Nemo’s next-door neighbor, , opened in March 2001 and is the point where East meets West. By incorporating Japanese and North American sensibilities throughout its décor, tableware and presentation, Shoji Sushi is a serene yet au courant environment. Authentic Japanese cuisine coupled with outstanding service yields a Zen-like experience for the palate and the senses.
Myles Chefetz has raised the bar literally when it comes to this raw concept offering the highest quality fish, presentation, freshness and simplicity.
Shoji Sushi features South Beach’s first table height sushi bar allowing customers to have an unobstructed view of the sushi chefs at work. Chefetz has carefully studied the Japanese Zen mentality clean, fast, organized and quiet and bring it to the table in a warm sophisticated setting.
Master Sushi Chef Shingo "Shin" Inoue is at the helm of Shoji Sushi alongside Schwartz. Since leaving his native Japan 15 years ago, Inoue has worked as a sushi chef at Nozawa in Vail, Colorado and most recently at Nobu in Malibu (California). A talented technician, Inoue is changing the quality of South Beach sushi, making an indelible mark in the restaurant community.
